PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and economically cleaning an organic bromine compound-containing waste gas containing a non-halogenated organic compound and/or carbon monoxide without using ammonia by simultane ously oxidizing and decomposing carbon monoxide and an organic bromine compound in the waste gas by brining the waste gas into contact with a cata lyst. SOLUTION: In the case of cleaning a waste gas by bringing the waste gas into contact with a catalyst, the catalyst to be employed for the cleaning contains a compound oxide of two or more metals selected from among Ti, Si and Zr, an oxide of at least one metal selected from Cu, V, W and Cr and either at least one metal selected from among Pd, Pt, Ph, Ir, and Ru and its oxide. |
