PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily revise specifications of the hardware and the software by using another removable cartridge to revise a program executed by a data processing means. SOLUTION: When a DSP is started, the DSP once loads a voice compander program stored in a ROM in a connected IC card to a RAM to check a communication capability of an opposite partly. The voice compander program once loaded to the RAM is written in a voice compander circuit 21 on the basis of opposite party communication capability data and the circuit 21 executes compander processing of voice data corresponding to transmission/reception processing of a video telephone set 1. Since the voice compander program executed by the voice compander circuit 21 is set to the ROM of the IC card and the RAM in this way, a voice function part of the video telephone set 1 can immediately be changed by having only to prepare IC cards storing different voice compander programs in matching with a communication capability of connected communication lines. |
