The anemometer measures the wind vector in terms of its three orthogonal components by three sensors set into rotation by the wind and generating digital signals representing the component velocities. The results are classified in terms of the quasi-instantaneous values in order to maintain a continuous record of the type and value of fluctuations, especially for monitoring the ventilation system of a tunnel or a similar system. The wind power in successive time periods is recorded in an instrument with a time base, a pulse shaper for the signals from the sensors a memory, and a manually operated recorder for indicating the contents of the memory. The time base may be provided by a quartz oscillator. |
