Mechanical transmission has an axially loaded shaft resting on a motor fixed part. Clearance between the shaft and fixed part is automatically readjusted. The adjustment device consists of a rotatable cam (5) between the shaft (1) end and the fixed part (10) of the motor casing (3), and of an elastic element (17) pretensioned by a torque. It rotates the cam, so that its angular movement is proportional to the clearance caused by wear of the elements in contact. The movable (7) and fixed (10) elements have recesses (15, 16) arranged concentrically to the corresponding screw-shaped flanges and retaining the end of a helical spring (17).
