METHOD FOR PRODUCING ANTIBIOTIC C-15003 P-3

Antibiotic C-15003 P-3 is obtained with high yield by cultivation on a culture medium contg. valine and isobutyric acid. Thus, 40ml inoculant medium(pH = 7.0) is added to 200ml erlenmeyer flask followed by inoculation with Nocardia species No C-15003 and incubation on a rotary shaker. The resulting cells are washed with distd. water and resuspended to original volumn. 1ml of resulting material is inoculated into 40 ml culture medium and this main culture is incubated at 28≦̸C for 8days. The total yield of C-15003 was 16μg/mL and the ratio of P-3 corresponding to total material is 95 wt.%.
