PURPOSE:To allow an assembly device to get rid of requirement for high precision by holding a chucking device, which is to grasp a set of parts to be assembled by pressure fitting at certain specified pitches, in such a way as movable microscopically in a plane normally crossing the press direction. CONSTITUTION:Two or more main bearing caps 11 are laid at a certain specific pitch by a regular delivery device to be grasped by a chucking device 18. These caps 11 are built in a cylinder block, arranged below, at its specific position through pressure fitting by sinking the chucking device 18 using an oil hydraulic device 54. At this time, the chucking device 18 can make a micro movement in a plane normally crossing the press-in direction with the aid of gaps etc. between the side 60a of wheel 60 and the side face 22a of guide rail 22. Accordingly, even through the locational accuracy of the chucking device is not so high, possible errors will be absorbed automatically and the parts can be built in securely and accurately. |
