The invention relates to a small transformer having an injection-moulded plastic coil former (2) and having a mounting rail (21) with connecting terminals (3) for external electrical connecting leads; in order to allow both the attachment of additional attachment parts in a simple manner and also to allow a reduction in the cost of production and assembly, it is proposed according to the invention that the mounting rail (21) be injection moulded directly on the plastic coil former (2). The connecting terminals (3) for the external electrical supply leads are expediently connected via latched snap closures (latching tabs 31, 32) to the mounting rail (21). A suitable application is, especially, for small transformers which are produced as a component unit and nevertheless are intended to be capable of use as a universal component for various application and installation purposes. <IMAGE>
