PURPOSE:To assure sufficient emission brightness and stabilize the emission brightness by employing an emitting function manifesting layer as a light emitting layer, said light emitting manifesting layer including an extended conjugation type quinone component, preferably comprising a metal complex and an extended conjugate quinone compound. CONSTITUTION:There are provided two electrode layers 2, 4, between which a light emitting layer is disposed putting an organic compound thin film layer 3 therebetween. The organic compound thin film layer comprises an extended conjugate type quinone compound or comprises a mixture layer (or a laminate layer) of a metal complex and the extended conjugate type quinone compound. Use of such a light emitting function manifesting layer can provide a light emitting device having sufficient emission brightness and stabilization of the emission brightness. |
