Catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes with a chain length of 2-10 carbon (C) atoms to produce alkenes with the same chain length comprises passing a mixture of alkanes, steam and hydrogen over a particulate catalyst (I) comprising platinum (Pt) and tin (Sn) on a hydrotalcite support. An Independent claim is also included for a unit for the catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes, comprising two reactors, each comprising parallel (I)-filled tubes in a top-fired combustion chamber. |
