PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly develop the air bag of an occupant restraint device from a space sandwiched between a front pillar and a front pillar garnish. SOLUTION: The front end of a folded air bag 21 is stored in a space sandwiched between a front pillar 18 and a front pillar garnish 67 and a rib 69 functioning as an impact absorbing member is integrally provided inside the front pillar garnish 67 positioned in the rear of the air bag 21. A passage 70 where the developing air bag 21 enters between the front pillar 18 and the rib 69 to pushingly open the front pillar garnish 67 is formed and the surface 691 of the rib 69 faced to the passage 70 is set to a smooth curved shape with no edge so as not to catch the air bag 21.
