PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid dump truck for enhancing productivity. SOLUTION: The dump truck comprises motors 9a, 9b for driving drive wheels, an engine 1 for a generator 2, a rectifier 4 for converting AC output power from the generator 2 into DC power, inverters 8a, 8b connected with the DC output line of the rectifier 4 in order to control the r.p.m. of the drive motors 9a, 9b, a battery 7 connected in parallel with the DC output line of the rectifier 4 and the input power supply line of the inverters 8a, 8b, and a controller for delivering a speed command signal to the inverters 8a, 8b depending on the acceleration. The drive motors 9a, 9b have a maximum output larger than that of the engine 1 and the controller 20 has a battery charge/ discharge control means 23 for assisting the driving powder of the drive motors 9a, 9b with a discharging current by delivering a command for enabling discharging from the battery 7 to a battery switch 5 when a power larger than the maximum output power of the engine 1 is required for driving the drive motors 9a, 9b. |
