An electronic map is displayed according to data read from a DVD-ROM (30). Distance display circles with a common center located at a point on the map interconnecting points on the map at equal geographical distances from the point are drawn. This enable the distance to a destination to be easily identified. The microcomputer (10) comprises a CPU (11) for executing programmes stored in a ROM (12). A RAM (13) is used as a work area and a non-volatile memory (14) holds data. When a specific key among operation keys (15) is operated, concentric circles centered on a vehicle mark are displayed on the display.
