PURPOSE:To decide the welding of the socket easily and positively by a method wherein an annular body with an annular concave is fixed at a predetermined position on an outer circumference of a pipe body in thermoplastic synthetic resin, and the shape of a bead formed after completion of welding is observed, in the testing method at the time when the pipe body is inserted into a boss of a pipe joint and welded. CONSTITUTION:In the testing method at the time when the pipe body 6 in the thermoplastic synthetic resin is inserted into the boss of the pipe joint 7 and welded, a clamping member 8 with the concave 21, which is concentric and annular at a section near to the inside in the radial direction of an end surface 8a at the pipe joint 7 side, is fixed previously on the outer circumference of the pipe body 6 at the position of predetermined length from an end section of the pipe body 6. The pipe body 6 is inserted into the pipe joint 7 until the end surface 8a of the clamping member 8 and an end surface 7b of the pipe joint 7 approach up to a prescribed interval, and welded. A welding condition is decided after completion of welding according to whether or not the shape of the bead 27 in case of welding formed to end surface 7b of the pipe joint 7 is a projection 28 corresponding to the concave 21 of the clamping member 8. |
