PURPOSE:To stably show superconducting characteristics in a wide composition range by reducing molar ratios of Pb, Bi, etc., liable to cause ununiformity of composition in a Ba-Pb-B-Cu-Obased superconducting material of oxide and replacing with Cu having a high melting point and low vapor pressure. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting material of oxide comprises a compound oxide shown by the formula Ba1+xPb1-y-zBiyCuzO3-delta (-0.4<=x<=1.0, 0.05<=y<=0.25, 0.1<=z<=0.7, y+x<=0.8). The superconducting material is produced by blending each carbonate, nitrate, oxide or peroxide of Ba, Pb, Bi and Cu, metal Pb or metal Cu as starting raw materials (in this case Ba peroxide, metal Pb and metal Cu do not exist at the same time) and calcining in an oxidizing atmosphere (partial pressure of oxygen: <=0.1atm.). |
