PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber-reinforced composite material having a uniform quality using an economical equipment in a short time by placing a ceramics powder, a binder member and a fiber base material in layers, pressure molding the resultant layered material and calcining the molded material. CONSTITUTION:This production method is composed of a process of placing a ceramics powder and a binder member containing a thermoplastic synthetic resin on a fiber base material in layers; a process of pressure molding the above-mentioned layered material at a temperature no lower than the softening temperature of the above-mentioned thermoplastic resin; and a process of calcining the molded material. The ceramics powder is preferably uniformly dispersed in the thermoplastic resin. As the thermoplastic resin, e.g. polyvinyl chloride resin, polyacrylonitrile resin and polyethylene resin are exemplified and as the ceramics powder, e.g. SiC, TiC and Si3N4 are exemplified. As the fiber base material., e.g. a filament, a staple, a felt and an nonwoven fabric of carbon fiber, SiC fiber, boron fiber, etc., are exemplified. |
