PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music game system to match the preference of a player. SOLUTION: In a game system in which operation is performed to match music, an editing mode is made delectable pertaining to a timing data for defining the timing of operation. In the editing mode, an edit window having a specified display range is shown on a screen of a display device being related to information indicating the position in a music. An image in the edit window is scrolled so that the position of a subject to be edited within the edit window shifts before and after the music in response to the scrolling operation. When a mark layout operation is given, a timing mark is arranged at the position of the subject to be edited within the editing window to indicate an operation timing of an operating member which is made to address the position of the subject to be edited, while the timing data during the editing is updated to get the position in the music corresponding to the position of the subject to be edited so as to be defined as operation timing.
