PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a similar image display method which can fast display a feature value space in response to the similarity even when the image feature cannot be expressed in the vector data or when the image similarity cannot be expressed in the linear connection. SOLUTION: A feature value space based on the feature value extracted from the data on every image is hierarchically divided into nodes C1-C10 for generating a tree structure. Then a display space is divided on the basis of the tree structure and the image data are arranged corresponding to each of divided display spaces for displaying the images. Thus, the position of feature value of every display space is decided according to the inter-feature value position set in the feature value space and the similar images are displayed on a screen at the positions close to each other, for example. Thereby the feature value space can be fast displayed in response to the similarity even when the image feature cannot be expressed in the vector data or when the image similarity cannot be expressed in the linear connection. |
