A method of establishing a lighting system and viewing environment for conduct of visual task is provided. The method generally includes steps of providing a visual performance lab (1) which includes a visual performance test system (2) wherein the test system (2) includes an observation or viewing station (3), task positioning equipment (5) and lighting equipment (6, 7, 8).
