The pointer drive system has a rotor (3) provided with a rotary magnet (8) and a stator (2), which has at least one coil for deflecting the rotor. Also a resetting magnet for preloading the rotor in a zero position against a stop. The resetting magnet (10) is ring shaped is arranged with one endface, lying opposite at least one part of an endface of the rotary magnet of the rotor and has a diametrical magnetising. The stator (2) has a holder (9) with an installation edge (13) for the resetting magnet (10). The installation edge (13) of the holder, lies against a casing surface of the resetting magnet. The holder (9) has at least one projection (14-16), facing the resetting magnet, to ensure it is rotation proof.
