CERAMIC PREFORM COMPOSITION FOR MANUFACTURING METAL- COMPOSITE

PURPOSE: A ceramic preform for preparing metallic complex is provided, which reduces the manufacturing cost of the complex and improves physical properties and uniformity when preparing a complex from the preform using zirconia with added alumina silica fiber, which shows low shrinkage rate and does not have any minute defect when being heat-treated at high temperature, and aluminum alloy by a squeeze casting method. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic preform is composed of ceramic fiber comprising: (i) 45-53wt.% of SiO2; (ii) 28-34wt.% of Al2O3; (iii) 17-25wt.% of ZrO2; (iv) not more than 0.4wt.% of Na2O+K2O; (v) not more than 0.6wt.% of CaO+MgO; and (vi) not more than 0.6wt.% of Fe2O3+TiO2.
