PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file updating method capable of shortening time to interrupt exchange service for file updating as much as possible, and reducing degradation in service to a subscriber as much as possible when exchange service is interrupted. SOLUTION: A first system is made into a working state and exchange service is performed by using a remaining call control processor except at least one call control processor. Simultaneously, a new file stored previously in a prescribed storage device is transferred to the excluded call control processor and each device of a second system. The new file stored in the prescribed storage device is transferred to the call control processor to which the file is not transferred in the state where exchange service is interrupted. Thus, the above-mentioned purpose is realized by a file updating method for a exchange to change the processing in the second system into the state where it can immediately take up the first system, while making the second system into the working state and performing exchange service by using the plurality of call control processors.
