PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnifier optical system and a stereoscope which are suitable for obtaining an appreciating means for a stereoscopic image fully covering the visual field of a human with the easiness of the stereoscope although the appreciating means could not be actualized before even by a large- scale device for all-around celestial stereoscopic video, etc. SOLUTION: This stereoscope 9 is made by inclining the optical axes 6 and 6 of two magnifier optical systems 5 and 5 each of which generates pincushion distortion and arranging so that the side of stereoscopic images 7 and 7 as a picture to be observed spreads in the horizontal direction more than the side of an eye point (e). The magnifier optical systems 5 and 5 each have three- group constitution of a 1st lens group 1 of a positive meniscus spherical lens which has a concave surface on the side of the eye point (e), a 2nd lens group 2 of a magnifying lens which is positive on the whole, and a 3rd lens group 3 of a negative meniscus spherical lens which has concave surface on the side of the stereoscopic images 7 and 7 in order from the side of the eye point (e).
