The invention relates to a support material for medical use, which is coated with a contact-holding adhesive on at least one side. The support material has a maximum tensile force of at least 800 cN/cm and an adhesive force on the rear side of not less than 10 cN/cm. The latex-free, cohesive adhesive substance that is applied to the support material contains one or more block copolymers containing less than 65 wt. % styrene and has a tan delta of less than 0.4 at a temperature of 25 DEG C and a frequency of 100 rad/s.
