PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device detecting a pressed input position for inputting a plurality of kinds of characters by one operation through one input key. SOLUTION: This character input device is provided with a plurality kinds of input keys, a detection part detecting a pressed input position among a plurality of predetermined input positions in each of the input keys, a selection determining part selecting a character previously correlated to the detected input position, and an outputting part outputting information matching the selected character selected by the selection determining part.
