The container/dispenser assembly consists of a plastic or metal container (2) with an open end (5) fitted with a dispensing pump or valve (15), and has an inner axially-moving piston (11) separating the chamber (18) holding the product from a second chamber (19) containing a propellant, especially a compressed or liquefied gas injected through an elastomer plug (6) in the container base. The piston is made from a material which is fed in liquid form into the container and solidifies, especially by polymerisation in situ, to form an elastic structure making a sealed contact with the container's inner wall. The piston contains a reinforcing shield (7) which prevents it from being penetrated by the propellant injection needle. |
