PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head capable of ejecting a very small liquid drop having stabilized size and shape at a low ejection voltage. SOLUTION: A substantially conical liquid guide 50 having a sharpened forward end side part is secured to a specified position of a head substrate 32, an annular control electrode 44 is provided to surround the surface of the head substrate 32 secured with the liquid guide 50, and a through hole 32a having a sectoral opening 35 is provided on the outside of the control electrode 44. A liquid circulation tub 30 is formed on the side of the head substrate 32 opposite to the side secured with the liquid guide 50. Liquid Q in the liquid circulation tub 30 flows through the opening 35 to the side of the head substrate 32 secured with the liquid guide 50 and a meniscus 18 is formed to cover the surface of the control electrode 44 and the liquid guide 50 by surface tension.
