SF6 GAS-FILLED SWITCH DISCONNECTOR UNITS ARE USUALLY EQUIPPED WITH SEVERAL SWITCH DISCONNECTORS ARRANGED IN A COMMON GAS TANK. THIS ARRANGEMENT IS PARTICULARLY INEXPENSIVE AND IS THEREFORE USED IN LARGE NUMBERS AT SUBSTATIONS BY POWER SUPPLY COMPANIES. HOWEVER, ONLY A LOW NUMBER OF VARIANTS IS POSSIBLE. WHEN SWITCHGEAR IS EQUIPPED WITH CIRCUIT BREAKERS, METERING PANELS OR SWITCH DISCONNECTOR FUSE COMBINATIONS, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE A SWITCH DISCONNECTOR UNIT AS DESCRIBED. THE INVENTION SHOWS A METHOD OF APPLYING SWITCHGEAR IN SF6 TECHNOLOGY WITH DIFFERENT COMPONENTS. FOR THIS PURPOSE, THE SWITCHGEAR IS SUBDIVIDED INTO SINGLE SECTIONS 1 WHICH CAN BE ARRANGED SIDE BY SIDE, AND EACH SINGLE SECTION 1 HAS ITS OWN GAS TANK(2) IN WHICH A CHOICE OF ISOLATOR, SWITCH DISCONNECTOR(3), SWITCH DISCONNECTOR FUSE COMBINATIONS(4), CIRCUIT BREAKER AND BUSBARS(6) ARE USED. EACH GAS TANK(2) IS PROVIDED WITH AN EXTENSION(7) WHOSE DEPTH IS LESS THAN THE DEPTH OF A GAS TANK(2). THE SAID EXTENSION(7) CAN BE FITTED WITH A BUSHING (8,9,10) FOR EXTERNAL BUSBAR SECTIONS(11,12,13) FOR EACH PHASE OF A THREE-PHASE SYSTEM. THIS ALLOWS THE STRAIGHTFORMARD CONNECTION OF THE INTERNAL BUSBARS(6) TO THE SAID EXTERNAL BUSBAR SECTIONS(11,12,13). THIS TYPE OF SWITCHGEAR IS EMPLOYED FOR THE SIDE-BY-SIDE ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS WITH DIFFERENT COMPONENTS.(FIGURE 2)
