PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum fluorescent display for which a transformer is not required, and to provide a filament driving method thereof. SOLUTION: The filament 301 is driven by the dc signal, the dc signal comprising two sub-signals, one of which comprises a waveform whose peaks are interlaced with those of the other. A driving circuit is integrated in a driver of the vacuum fluorescent display 3, a controller 31 of the vacuum fluorescent display 3, and an integrated circuit of a microcontroller unit of the vacuum fluorescent display 3 to eliminate the need for the installation of the transformer.
