PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor and rationalize construction when the opening of a shield tunnel is formed by removing the segments thereof. SOLUTION: This shield tunnel comprises RC segments 12 assembled in a ring shape. The removable steel segments 11 are built in the area of the shield tunnel including the opening 16 and the peripheral edge reinforcement part of the opening 16. Then, an opening reinforcement timbering 13 formed by assembling arcuate timbering 13 installed along the inner peripheral surface of the segments circularly assembled around the steel segments 11 and reinforcement beams 14 is assembled. The opening is formed by dismantling the steel segments 11. Frame-like reinforcement members 17 are installed at the peripheral edge reinforcement parts of the formed opening, respectively.
