PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of constructing a ballast part in a tunnel capable of securing a passage for safely traveling construction vehicles in a ballast part district under construction by a simple construction and also provide the ballast part. SOLUTION: This method of constructing a ballast part in a tunnel comprises: a pedestal member installation step S20 of continuously installing pedestal members 14 each having an upper surface of a predetermined width at a predetermined height in the axial direction of the tunnel that the upper surfaces are generally horizontal at the center of the bottom part in the tunnel; and a backfilling step S30 of laying down a backfilling material in the spaces at the bottom part of the tunnel on both sides of the continuously installed pedestal members 14 for backfilling the spaces. The upper surfaces of the continuously installed pedestal members 14 are used as the passage for moving the construction vehicles in the ballast part district under construction.
