<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform informing fitted to feeling of a driver without giving discomfort and a sense of incongruity to the driver even when a preceding car is lost during following traveling control. <P>SOLUTION: The traveling control device for the vehicle is provided with a front side recognition device 3 for capturing the preceding car; a control unit 2 for performing following traveling control relative to the preceding car when the preceding car is captured by the front side recognition device 3; and a buzzer 6c for performing informing when the front recognition device 3 captures the preceding car or the captured preceding car is removed.
