摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that if a continuous arc at arc-extinguishing plates does not maintain by effects of pressure gradient of the peripheries of the arc-extinguishing plates, an electromagnetic force or the like from a current path of the arc-extinguishing plates, an exhaust port is clogged with metal droplets from the melted arc-extinguishing plates, conductors or the like, a peeled-off insulating material or the like, and flow passage resistance to the outside is increased, and that even if the arc is exhausted from the arc-distinguishing plates by above two actions, generation of an electrode voltage drop, a cooling effect of the arc or the like are not applied, and the arc voltage is reduced and a current-limiting performance is reduced. SOLUTION: This circuit breaker includes a fixed contact, a movable contact contacted with and separated from this fixed contact, an arc-extinguishing device in which a plurality of the arc-extinguishing plates to divide and extinguish the arc generated between the fixed contact and the movable contact when opening of and separating from this movable contact are arranged, and the fixed contact side and the movable contact side arc traveling conductors wherein the arc is guided to the arc-extinguishing device. The arc traveling conductors and the arc-extinguishing device are respectively opposed by a prescribed gap, and at either one or both of the opposing faces of the arc traveling conductors and the outermost side arc-extinguishing plate, an electric field enhancing part to enhance an electric field is installed.
