PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element which allows a cylindrical battery to be easily and reliably mounted onto a circuit board without causing an increase in cost, and can also save the space required for mounting.SOLUTION: An external PTC element is fitted to one of electrode terminals 111 and 112 of a cylindrical battery 110 provided with the electrode terminals on its respective end surfaces. The tabular PTC element and a top plate 20 made of a metal plate are stacked in this order on a bottom plate 30 made of a metal plate and arranged at the bottom. The PTC element is arranged in a facing region between the top plate 20 and the bottom plate 30. The top plate 20 extends as it protrudes, in one direction, to a plane region of the bottom plate 30, and has a tip 21 which is formed into a shape of a lead terminal mountable onto a circuit board.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
