PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus which distributes light from a light emission element in a wide angle, can be accommodated in ceiling and improves the appearance of an installation space.SOLUTION: A lighting apparatus 1 includes an LED 2 and an optical member 3 which distributes and controls light emitted by the LED 2. The optical member 3 includes an incident surface 31 for making the light emitted by the LED 2 incident, an outgoing surface 32 which faces the incident surface 31 and causes the light to outgo through the surface and a side surface 33 which connects the incident surface and the outgoing surface 32. The side surface 33 is formed in such a tapered shape that the diameter becomes smaller from the incident surface 31 side to the outgoing surface 32 side and the outgoing surface 32 has a curved surface 32a conically concave to the incident surface 31 side. The light made incident to the incident surface 31 directly or is reflected by the side surface 33 and is refracted or transmitted by the curved surface 32a of the outgoing surface 32. Therefore, the light from the LED 2 can be distributed in a wide angle and is not protruded from a ceiling C1 because the curved surface 32a is concave, the whole of the lighting apparatus 1 can be accommodated into the ceiling and the appearance of the installation space can be improved. |
