The present invention provides: a composition for forming a negative electrode of a lithium secondary battery, comprising a negative electrode active material, an aqueous binder, a cellulose-based thickening agent of a particle phase, and a basic additive and having pH of 7 to 7.5; a producing method thereof; and a lithium secondary battery comprising a negative electrode produced by using the same. The composition for forming a negative electrode has no danger of gelation and high solid content as well as excellent stability, thereby being able to improve output properties and lifespan properties of a battery when applying the negative electrode produced by using the same to the lithium secondary battery.
