PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter driving motor suitable for driving a traction motor in an electric vehicle, an electric scooter and an electric bicycle. SOLUTION: A power converter includes a serial circuit made up of a battery and a capacitor, a first power converter 14 with a first output terminal connected to the serial circuit through a regenerative object switch circuit 10 and a second input/output terminal connected to a motor 18, a second power converter 320 having an input terminal connected to the first input/output terminal and an output terminal connected to the capacitor, and a control circuit 73 for controlling the first and second power converters 14 and 320. The regenerative object switch circuit 10 has a first switched state, in which the output of the second power converter 320 is fed to the capacitor and a second switched state, in which the output of a first power converter 16 is fed to the battery. In regenerative time of the motor 18, the regenerative object switch circuit 10 is turned to the first switched state, and when the capacitor is fully charged, the switch circuit 10 is put in the second switched state so as to charge the battery from the first power converter 14. |
