A current of air is generated by a transverse flow blower through an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening positioned in opposition to each other at the ends in the lengthways direction of the exchanger plates in a collercot for solar energy. Two pipe loops, completely separate from each other, form two separate flow circuits in direct heat contact with the exchanger plates. These are aligned obliquely to the cover of the collector which is domed upwards, and below the plates an electrical heater is installed which is supplied by a wind-driven generator. The one circuit can be used directly for transmitting the energy of the sun whilst the other acts as the vapouriser of a heat pump. The collector is able to take up energy from the environment when there is reduced or complete absence of sunshine, and deliver it to the user.
|
