A dry powder inhaler is disclosed which has a lid (20) pivotally attached to an inhaler housing (5). The inhaler includes a mixing chamber (not shown), a medicine cartridge (60) and a pressure switch (not shown). A ratchet lever (not shown) on the housing (5) engages the lid (20) and the cartridge (60) for cartridge rotational advancement with movement of the lid.
