The pouring device (1) is divided into a launder (2) and a casting gate compartment (6, 7, 8) assigned to each mould and having a rapid-emptying opening with a plug (10). The supply of molten metal to each casting-gate compartment (6, 7, 8) can be interrupted separately and independently of the others in order, if necessary, to interrupt the casting of one strand without disrupting the casting of the other strands. The transport device comprises a respective transport chain (14) for each strand (13). The links (15) of the transport chains form a V-shaped channel for each strand, a strand thereby being guided at the sides along the entire length of the transport device. The transport chains are driven by a common drive but can be coupled or decoupled from the latter individually. <IMAGE>
