PURPOSE:To weld and adhere a covered copper wire to a terminal without removing artificially the insulation covering by inserting the insulated copper wire into the terminal of an electrical appliance, pressing the terminal and the insulated copper wire with upper and lower electrodes and conducting electricity thereto. CONSTITUTION:An upper electrode 24 and a lower electrode 26 are attached to both ends of a secondary conductor 22 of a voltage transformer 16 for welding. A pressing device 28 is provided to the electrode 24. A terminal 32 of an electrical applicance is placed between both electrodes 24, 26 and an insulated copper wire 42 is inserted in the space part 40 therebetween. The electrode 24 is lowered by the device 28 in this state and the tip 38 of the terminal 32 is bent, and at this same instant, initial current is conducted between the electrodes 24 and 26. The terminal 32 is heated by the conduction, then the insulation covering 46 of the wire 42 in a recess 40 is heated and melted away; further the current flows to the electrode 24, the terminal 32, the copper wire 44 of the wire 42, the terminal 32 and the electrode 26 on account of pressing by the electrode 24. The wire 44 is thus joined by resistance welding to the terminal 32. |
