PURPOSE:To provide a dental adhesive capable of forcibly bonding to the tooth and organic polymer materials, and composed of a specific polymerizable monomer, a monomer copolymerizable therewith, a hardener (a redox-type polymerization initiator), a filler and a volatile organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective dental adhesive is composed of (A) 1pt.wt. of a polymerizable monomer of formula [R1 is H or CH3; Ra is 6-40C (m+1)-valent organic residue; X1 and X2 are O, S or NR' (R' is H or 1-6C hydrocarbon residue); Z is halogen; m is 1 or 2; k is 0 or 1], (B) 0-199pts.wt. of a monomer copolymerizable with the monomer A [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer], (C) 0.01-20pts.wt., based on 100pts.wt. of (A)+(B), of a hardener (e.g. redox- type polymerization initiator), (D) a filler and (E) a volatile organic solvent. The adhesive exhibits excellent adhesivity both to the tooth and the restorative dental material.
