PURPOSE:To reproduce and run a tape and to listen to a sound while representing a desired screen as a static picture by dividing the operation for designating a static picture operation into the case when a tape running is stopped and the case when a reproduction running is continued. CONSTITUTION:When a temporary stop static picture designating key 1 is operated, a tape running block 4 is stopped by a system control block 3, a reproducing picture immediately before the stop is stored in a picture memory block 5 from a reproducing circuit block 6, outputted to a reproducing output block 7 as the static picture, can be seen as the static picture and the sound output is stopped. During the running, when a static picture designating key 2 is operated, the tape running block 4 successively runs by the control block 3, the reproducing picture during the operation is stored in the picture memory block 5 from the reproducing block 6 and outputted to the reproducing output block 7 as the static picture, can be seen as the static picture and since the tape running is continued, the sound is outputted.
