PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor with superior moisture-proof by forming a middle layer made of ethylene-propylene rubber on a photoconductive layer and coating said layer with an insulating layer while preventing the deterioration of the characteristic of the photoconductive layer due to solvent. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer formed by dispersing a photoconductor in a binder is formed on an electrically conductive support, and a soln. of ethylene- propylene rubber with >=10,000mol.wt. in an aliphatic hydrocarbon such as ligroin is applied to the layer and dried to form a middle layer about 4-20mu in thickness. An insulating layer is then formed by adding a lubricant such as wax or polytetrafluoroethylene power to a soln. of a setting resin such as epoxy resin or polyester resin and applying the lubricant-added soln. The solvent of the middle layer does not swell or dissolve the binder of the photoconductive layer. Since the middle layer isolates the solvent of the insulating layer, the photoconductive layer is not damaged. In addition, the middle layer shuts off moisture, so the resulted receptor has enhanced moisture-proof. |
