<p>A stopper for, for example, a bottle of cleaning liquid, comprises a housing 1 which includes a through passageway 6 and a valve means, the valve means comprising a valve member 24, which is movable between a closed position in which it seats against a seating 20 of the housing and an open position in which it is unseated, a biassing means 4, e.g. one or more springs, and a retention member 3, such as a ring, which is resiliently deformable to enable it to be push fitted into the housing during assembly. The valve member may be a rod 2 with a flared lower end 24 which can seat against a frustoconical surface of the housing, the inclination of surface 22 allowing residual liquid to fall back into the bottle. The stopper is preferably of two piece construction, one piece being the housing and the other piece being the rod, spring and retention ring formed as a single integrally moulded part. The ring may carry a rib 26 which snap fits in a groove of the housing, (28, figure 3). <IMAGE></p> |
