PURPOSE:To reduce an information processing quantity to downsize an information processing device and shorten information processing time by recognizing a forward road surface, and judging only whether or not an object other than a road, namely, a preceding vehicle is present in a predetermined area on the road surface to judge a safe inter-vehicle distance. CONSTITUTION:When a road condition is confirmed by an image device 3 in a state wherein movement is judged according to a wheel speed sensor signal 102, a first and a second personal area are prepared in an image processing device. Next, judgement on whether or not an object, namely, a preceding vehicle is present in the first personal area is conducted, and when being absent, if a difference between right length and left length of white line is smaller than a threshold value, a rectilinear road is judged to return to a first step. On the other hand, when a preceding vehicle is judged entering the first personal area, namely, reducing speed or stopping and own vehicle is judged not conducting brake operation according to a stop lamp signal 103, a primary alarm is issued from an alarming device 10 according to an alarm commanding signal 105. |
