An electrical connector comprising an insulating housing 11, a plurality of conductive members 12, 13, 70, 71, one end 14 of each member in a first section being adapted for mating with another connector and the opposite end of each member in a second section being adapted for providing connection e.g. by ID contacts 15 to wires 16, (18 Figure 3) from a cable 17 comprising a bundle of twisted pairs. The ID contacts are housed in slots 21, 22 in a mandrel 20 which has grooves 23 for receiving the wires 16, (18). It is stated that cross-talk in the connector is reduced by choosing the length w + x + y + z where the wires 16, 18 are parallel so that the cross-talk is of the opposite polarity to that in the mating section 14. Because the wires 16, 18 lie in one plane and the conductive members 12, 13 lie in another plane the cross-talk at different ends of the connector are of opposite polarity. <IMAGE> |
