Rose-harvesting, transporting and sorting system

The system is for roses and similar flowers with button portions, these being cut by a picker and sorted for length and/or thickness. They are suspended by their button portions after picking and during transport to the sorting machine, being typically suspended one by one in a holder. This can be designed to hold them with their button portions all roughly at the same height, the holder being automatically delivered to the sorting machine after transfer to the conveyor. During any intervening time the roses can be stored in a cold room. The holder can be formed by an oblong component with transverse slots.
