PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To occupy a communication circuit for the static images even when these images are transmitted in a moving image communication mode and to transmit the static images in a short time by reading out a message stored previously in a ROM when the static images are simultaneously reproduced in the moving image communication mode, displaying the message on a moving image display screen to stop the reproduction of the moving images, and storing the moving image data to be sent in a memory to transmit them again after the transmission of the static images. SOLUTION: The moving image data (H263 compressed data) are continuously sent to a memory 7 during the JPEG compression and temporarily stored in a memory 27. The image data stored in the memory 27 are read out and sent again as necessary after the transmission of the static images. When a JPEG detection circuit 30 detects the start of compression, the message data are read out of a message ROM 26 and the message image is immediately displayed on a screen. At the same time, the opposite party of communication also displays the message image on a screen while the static images are transmitted after the JPEG compression. |
