The tube is made from a strip of metal which is folded lengthwise to form two opposite basically flat and parallel main walls (4, 5) with rounded edges (6, 7) and two or more intermediate partitions. The intermediate partitions are made from folds (11, 12; 16, 17) in one of the two main walls and by the two free edges (14, 16) of the strip, which are folded inwards and joined to the inner surface of the opposite flat wall. In a variant of the design the two free edges of the strip can be joined together to from one of the outer edges of the tube.
