This device comprises a positioning mechanism 1, a pressing mechanism 2 and a cover 3 which are joined to a support covering 4 which can be coupled to a container- type store. The pressing mechanism 2 has an external actuator 15 joined to a press 13. The positioning mechanism 1 comprises fixed guiding means 33 formed by an inlet orifice 35, two guide walls 37 and a stop 38, and movable guiding means 34 coupled to the press 13 composed by two supports 39 joined to respective positioning levers 41. The introduction of a can 47 into the device locates it between the guide walls 37, resting on the supports 39, and by means of rotation of the external actuator 15 it is axially positioned in the press, where it is compacted. Applicable to environmental conservation and to materials recycling. <IMAGE>
